We first met Don more than 20 years ago, and the man was nothing if not interesting, amusing, generous and a gentleman.
He began grass track and long track racing way back in 1953, and spent over two decades in the saddle notching up victory after victory and winning dozens of awards including three British 500cc titles and the 1969 European Long Track Championship.
